Board of Editors and Advisors
-
The journal is managed by a board of scholars and is advised by an actively engaged group of international academics – several of them Yezidis themselves. The board is committed to teamwork amongst themselves, as well as with all submitting authors and subscribers. The board is also committed to a strict code of ethics guiding the relationship between its members and researchers who wish to contribute to the journal. This code also serves to align the journal with international standards of academic publishing and scholarship. The members of the board are specialized in a variety of areas related to Yezidi studies, which encompass:
-
The history, culture, art, architecture, and religion of the Yezidis, including beliefs, customs, laws, and rituals.
-
The origins and evolution of the Yezidi community as well as their perception by outsiders – friends and detractors.
-
The impact of political and social factors on the Yezidis as well as the effect that they have had regarding conflicts, persecution, genocide, and displacement.
-
The situation of Yezidis in the diaspora where they have had to define themselves against the background of new cultures, new languages, new laws, and new social norms.
